About this recording

Published 2026-05-24. Yellowstone is normal right now… but one pool just had its biggest recorded eruption. Black Diamond Pool in Biscuit Basin erupted on April twenty-eighth and again on April twenty-ninth. The April twenty-ninth event was the largest recorded there since monitoring instruments were installed in summer twenty twenty-five. This was not a supervolcano eruption. Yellowstone remains Normal / Green. This archived recording reflects reporting at publication; conditions may have changed.
