Every incident links to its source and records both the source update time and our retrieval time. An open event is not proof of current severity or new damage. Unknown casualty and impact figures remain unknown.

Source reports may conflict. We preserve individual source records and do not turn conflicting values into an unsupported combined total. Corrections are attached to the incident timeline.

AI-assisted drafting, if enabled, must remain in the review queue. A human editor must check numerical claims against source records before publishing. Generated illustrations must be labeled and cannot stand in for documentary photography.

Send corrections through the contact route with the incident URL and a supporting primary source. Material corrections should explain what changed and when.
