Volcano Ash Safety Guide

Use this checklist before an emergency. During an active incident, local instructions take priority.

1. Follow observatory and emergency-management instructions. Leave exclusion zones when directed.
2. During ashfall, stay indoors when possible and close doors and windows. Reduce outside air entering the building.
3. If you must go outside, follow official respiratory-protection guidance and protect your eyes. Avoid unnecessary driving.
4. Keep ash out of water supplies and machinery. Follow local advice for cleanup and roof safety.
