Hurricane Preparation Checklist

Use this checklist before an emergency. During an active incident, local instructions take priority.

1. Learn your evacuation zone and plan how to leave, including transportation and pet arrangements.
2. Prepare supplies, medicines and essential documents. Protect your home before conditions become dangerous.
3. Follow National Hurricane Center forecasts and local evacuation orders. Hazards extend beyond the forecast center line.
4. Stay away from floodwater and damaged infrastructure. Wait for official permission before returning.
